When Did The School of Philosophy and Economic Science Begin?
Founded in 1968 in Dublin
The School of Philosophy and Economic Science was started in 1968 in Dublin. An advert was place in the Irish Times inviting 'thoughtful men and women' to weekly practical philosophy courses. Some of these students are still attending!
The School in Ireland is part of an international association of practical philosophy schools, and each is an independent legal entity. We share a common philosophy and approach which has its origins in the School of Economic Science in London which was founded in 1937. There are also schools in the USA, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
